DIRECTIONS TO LAKE SKINNER
Lake Skinner is east of Temecula in Riverside County. (Galen, that’s away from the ocean)
From Orange County:
- Take either the 5 North to the 55 North or the 241 Toll Road North, to the 91 East to Riverside.
- Past Corona take the 15 South to Temecula/San Diego.
- Heading south, after the 215 joins the 15 from the left (about 35 minutes) exit the 15 on Rancho California Road.
- Left on Rancho California Road 11 miles, past Glen Oakes Rd to Warren Rd.
- Right off Warren Rd and find the driveway entrance to Lake Skinner Regional Park before Warren Rd makes a 90 degree left (West) and turns into Boreal Rd.
- Pass through the Main gate. You will have to pay for a day pass. Ask for directions to the Sarjent Group in the “Group Camping Area”.
- Continue toward the Lake and you will see a dry storage yard on your right with boats and trailers in it. Turn right on the dirt road running Easterly along the dry storage fence. (If you get to the general store on the entrance road, you’ve gone too far. You missed the dirt road to the right.) There used to be a small sign “Group Camping”.
Again continue toward the group camping circle and the Band will set up under the picnic gazebo in the middle of the circle.
- There will be two small swimming pools with water for those wishing to get wet. (There is no swimming in Lake Skinner, pee kills bass.)
Bring:
A chair Water
A hat Sun screen
Shade Anything else that might make you comfortable in the middle of a 100 degree desert.
If you can’t understand these directions, fuck it, you’re too stoned to play. Go rent Reefer Madness and Clerks and settle into and air conditioned space for the weekend.
